Shortage of PPE is a challenge that many of us unfortunately have become too accustomed to. This site was created for fellow health care workers as a guide into the world of reusable masks.

Safe

In many places health care workers have been working under unsafe circumstances. The shortage of masks and the unsubstantiated lowering of the protection norms have lead to the use of surgical masks instead of FFP2 (or N95). Reusabe masks offer a FFP up to FFP3 level protection.

Reusable

We have been pushing the frontiers of the sterilisations of disposable masks to the limit, often without a clear understanding of how far we can go and what the impact will be on the filtering capacity of the mask. Reusable masks are made to be cleaned and safely reused for years on end.

Certified

During this pandemic there have been many wonderful new mask innovations and developments. However because they are not yet certified we see that there are hindrances and delays to applying these innovative ideas unto the workplace. This guide underlines how to apply reusable masks that have been used for decades in the gas, chemical and paint industry in a healthcare setting. These masks are all tested, certified and up to norm.

Affordable

The goal of this guide was not to be solely reliant on the support of government and hospital administrations, although their involvement should certainly be encouraged. However this site is primarily aimed at the individual health care worker looking to protect themselves and their patients and the offered solutions therefore needed to be affordable. A reusable FFP3 mask and filter combination can be purchased for under 50 euro's.
